This Overview of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 and supporting legislation is for private residential landlords and letting agents in Wales. The Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 (‘the Act’) (due to come into force 01 December 2022) will fundamentally change the current system for letting residential dwellings in Wales. The Act was due to come into force on 15 July 2022 but has been delayed to allow landlords time to comply with the changes, and for the Welsh Government to introduce supporting legislation.
